» Okay, question. Camera question
Alright so I'm starting an academic journal for my high school. and I will be doing a lot of picture taking. I will feature students The resolution has to be bigger than 8x11 inches.
The current camera I have is a fujifilm finepix 700S which is 7 mega pixels. It's great, but I need more.
Any help?:confused:Almost all modern cameras are good for portrait and basic reportage work - that means they'll have a zoom in a medium range.
The big question is, as always, what your budget is?For the purposes you describe, 7 megapixels would be fine. The issue is more what you do with those pixels. I often print at the sizes you describe and larger, from a 6 megapixel sensor... but the images are taken with good lenses... megapixels and resolution ...... - 2010-03-11

» Not displaying 'year' for some albums
Hi, I'm wondering why my library mode doesn't display the 'Year' that other albums have above the 'Genre' info. It only does this with my classical music. The information IS in the tag (id3v2) and also gets picked up in the section 'years'. It just won't show:

Any thoughts?
(using T3CH-rev9489)Thoughts are:
1. Is that view of the skin supposed to be showing them?
2. Is it always with the same albums?
3. Does the year show on the songs from the album?

» What is use of C.T in distrubution and transmission line?
A current transformer (CT) is a type of instrument transformer designed to provide a current in its secondary winding proportional to the alternating current flowing in its primary. They are commonly used in metering and protective relaying in the electrical power industry where they facilitate the safe measurement of large currents, often in the presence of high voltages. The current transformer safely isolates measurement and control circuitry from the high voltages typically present on the circuit being measured.
In general there are two kinds of CT one is for metering and other is for protection.

I thought that a Geforce 9800 GT would be able to take maximum settings for Gears of War but in the game there are some minor frame rate drops and freeze spikes. My framerate seems to be around 30-40fps at maximum setings. Is it the graphics card or another factor?

You will need to look closer. first, what room is the water coming into? Go to the area of the attic over the area the leak was, then move out from there in a spiral. 3 days after changing the oil I had already driven a lot, now the knocking is really loud. As per my mechanic I parked the car. I have to give it back in Jan to GM. » The best from the worst
Hi everyone,
I love great photos, and I always wanted to take at least moderate quality pictures. I am not even a beginner, the best camera that I had was some crappy $200 camera. Eventually I lost it, and now I am ready to get a new one.
The thing is, I want to take good pictures, but I don't want to buy those huge cameras with lenses, the size of the lunch box. I want a small camera, the one that you probably don't even recognize as a camera, the one that can fit into the jacket pocket, the one that you can take with you on vacation with no need to carry the "lunch box". So that's where the question came up, what is the best of those crappy cameras? I am ready to spend around $600, but might think of spending even more (I got a good Chr...... - 2010-03-11
» Sony Alpha 200
I know most photographers love cannon and nikon, but i've heard great things about the sony 200. any opinions?Since I own one my opinion may be a little influenced, but you'll get the same with nikon and canon users., so:
First, all entry-level cameras deliver practically the same amount of image quality, as long as their are 10 MP cameras, 6 MP cameras aren't good enough, why? because some times you need to crop, specially with the kit lens from any manufacturers, because they don't have enough tele-zoom.
So this is reduced to the "extra" features all DSLR have.
Canon XTi: In it's favor it has DOFP button (If its important is up to you, for me it's useless in their small viewfinders), the pop-up flash go higher and slightly better contr...... - 2010-03-11

» What happens to the temperature of warm and cold water when left at room temperature?
can you give me some links to find itHeat always flows from hotter objects to colder objects. The warm water is hotter than the atmospheric air inside the room. Hence, from the warm water heat will flow (by processes called conduction, convection and radiation) to the air till both are of the same temperature. Conversely, in case of colder water, heat will flow from air to water (because here air is warmer than water) till they both attain the same temperature. When both the temperatures are same, heat will not flow from any object to another.
So, you see, it is the temperature that determines whether heat will flow from one object to another and not the total heat content of the object. The heat energy in the surrounding air an the heat en...... - 2010-03-11

» PM3: Simplified Library?
Hey Guys,
Hoped someone could point me in the right direction. I'm trying to make a simplified video library view. Essentially "Home > Videos > [TV] or [Movies] > then directly to movie/tv titles view (skipping the genre, director, actor choices).
I've been digging a bit, I know MyVideoNav.xml is the video library view and it inherits view types from CommonViewTypes.xml
But I've been digging through CommonViewTypes.xml and I can't figure out where to make the change to insert an activatewindow to skip straight to (videolibrary, movietitles). I use the Big Icon view, so I know it should be in the "AllViewCommonThumbLarge" section but I don't see where i can set the link.

» Lens Magnification on 35mm
I know the size of a lens for a 35mm SLR is relative to it's focal point but can anyone tell me how to work out the magnification level?
If 50mm is roughley what the eye sees then is 100mm equivelant to 2X magnification or is it more mathmatical than that?If 50mm is roughley what the eye sees then is 100mm equivelant to 2X magnification or is it more mathmatical than that?
What you said works when focused to infinity... or at least if the subject isn't too close.
Correct me if I'm wrong thoughI don't know if you even calculate that.. If you would take a picture of someones head, which would be roughly say, 20 cm in hight, in portrait view, almost view filling. that would fill your negative for about 3.5 cm. that would be a demagnificatio...... - 2010-03-11

Anyway, when I attempt to backup each individual table via the GUI, the total dump SQL file size is only 250KB. My database is 140MB. How do I do a mysqldump from the command line of the server? » Apply events to all objects
I want to apply some event to all objects in a WinForm. (I'll do WPF later, I want to do WinForms right now. :))
Event I want to do is keyPress. One way to do this would be to have a function, and all objects call this function from their own function and send in object, and event. Is there any other way? Is there any shortcut?
What I'm trying to do is this. While I'm tying this post in a textbox, if I were to press "Ctrl+T", Firefox would open a new window. Basically, I want to add event only to the parent object, and all children would listen to that event (unless they have their own defined).
(Delegate stuff is new, so I still need to look into it "deeply.")
Thanks! :)I don't know how it would be in WinForms, but it may be si...... - 2010-03-11
» Question about telephoto lenses???
Hi:
I have a question regarding telephoto lenses. Presently I have a Nikon D40 with a 18-70 mm lens, which I love. However, I do need a telephoto lens especially when taking pictures of animals in Zoos. I’m getting ready to purchase one (1 to 3 months,) but have not decided which one I would like to get. My choices are between the 55-200 VR and the 70-300 VR2 (or any other one, but do not have the budget for over $500.00.) There are advantages and disadvantages with both, as a see it.
55-200 VR Advantages
1. Price $250.00, but is not the overriding consideration. It is probably the best lens for the money. Yes, it is made in China.
2. Lighter than the 70-300, very important for a D40.
3. The Focal range is very good. I hate to change l...... - 2010-03-11

He played wonderful inning in practice match ?
You dont think that yuvraj is much better then VVS Laxman ?Because the Indian selectors are not flexible, the big four and the two spinners have their caps bookedYuvraj Singh is an excellent ODI and T20 player. Laxman is an excellent Test match player. There is a difference in their games. One is a sprint specialist and the other is a marathon specialist. If somebody is a specialist in all three forms, he is known as Sachin Tendulkar or Virender Sehwag, not as Yuvraj Singh or Laxman. I think he fits into that category of misused. He SHOULD be in the test team while the experienced players are there in order to learn. waiting for them to retire to open up a spot is the wrong way to go.

I am going to apply for a police department in illinois. I am currently beginning to train myself for the physical exam. If I pass all the testing up to the interview, what can I do to better my chances in passing the oral interview. I've already been through an interview and didn't pass and I answered all the questions the best i could. There are multiple things that you may be able to improve on. One of the best ways to improve your performance during oral interviews is to practice. Also, try to learn as much as you can about the department that you are interviewing with. » Find me the indie rock song with a final refrain of "That's what I heard"
While driving from WInston-Salem to Raleigh-Durham today I heard an
indie rock song that had a final refrain consisting of voices
overlapping two phrases: "That's what I heard" and "We understand
where you're coming from." Can you identify the artist, album & song
title?Seeing as no researchers have picked this up yet I thought I'd give it a shot...
This search could be difficult, as the second line of "We know where
you're coming from" is probably considered backup and not actual
lyrics, so may not appear in a list of the lyrics of this song.
Could you tell me if a woman or man sung the song, and anything else
at all that you recall - tempo, beat, any other lyrics?

» Here's how to buy MRE's
Wouldn't MRE's be a great thing to take hurricane chasing, and even "tornado" chasing?
I found out how we can get them. This is the vendor for the Red Cross.
I have eaten them a few times, and they aren't too bad. Not bad at all. They come with a pouch of some chemicals. You pour a bit of water into the pouch, then place the pouch next to the food, and the water reacting with the chemicals in the pouch makes them quite hot. The food gets heated up pretty darn well.
There are 12 meals per box, I think about 4 or 5 different "menues" per box, and each meal is about 1500-2000 calories of nutrition, IIRC. The shelf life is 5 years. Cost is $64.60 per box of 12 meals, which includes shipping, and there is no tax (unless maybe you live ...... - 2010-03-11

Japan is back to the Stone Age when it comes down to transplants (http://www.japantimes.co.jp/cgi-bin/getarticle.pl5?fd20040606pb.htm)
Actually, about 3,000 organ transplants took place last year in the United States, which is a smaller number than it sounds considering that 2.4 million Americans died in the same year. But it's a huge number compared to Japan, where only 30 organ-transplant operations have taken place since they were legalized in 1997.

Under the current law, organs for transplants can only be removed from individuals who are 16 or over and who have filled out a "prior declaration," often referred to as a donor's card. The doctor must also receive permission from the donor's family.

A wavelength is the distance between two adjacent wave crests. Light is commonly described by its wavelength. Within the visible spectrum, the light with the longest distance between adjacent wave crests is experienced as red by our visual sense. Visible light with the shortest distance between wave crests is experienced as violet. Green is found near the midpoint of the visible spectrum. In order of longer to shorter wavelengths, visible light follows the following progression: red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, violet. The distance between two points of equal height on a wave. Scientists say poorer populations in vulnerable countries could starve if a disease called Ug-99 hits yields hard enough to push up wheat prices.
There is already a global wheat shortage and UN agencies are concerned about the impact of high food prices.
Ug-99 is a form of black stem rust that prevents wheat taking up nutrients and can wipe out whole harvests.
Scientists at the John Innes Centre, in England, are trying to find wheat with a natural resistance to the disease. Most wheat grown in Africa, Asia and China, has little resistance to Ug-99.
