• Just wondering. My 6 month old has a couple of really big wobblers at the front of his mouth. Looks like other teeth (smaller, or just not up yet) are actually behind the wobbly ones. Poor wee thing.

And I realised I know nothing about this - does he loose all his teeth and gain a whole set of new ones, or just the big ones? Eeew, what happens to the teeth he looses - I have a horrid feeling that one of them was eaten today along with his food... Eeeew.

  • Yep, they swallow them all the time. It's a little freaky, but they're just like us. Their adult teeth come in. It's amazing they're so sweet while this is going on.

  • yes they loose there baby teeth u probably vacuumed them up its a Natural thing and im sure they dont eat them dont worry your cat will be ok.

  • YES AROUND 7 OR 8 MONTHS OLD HE WILL LOSE HIS BABY TEETH!!

  • he will lose all his milk teeth just like us and get a full set of adult gnashes. it won't matter if they get swallowed i only ever found one of my cats teeth and we kept it as a reminder.

  • Yep, they lose the whole set. This is actually the earliest an orphaned wild cat can survive, since cubs or kittens are unable to kill or have great difficulty killing normal prey before they get their adult canines. Normally they'll stay with mom for at least a few more months after their teeth come in to keep practicing hunting with her (or more than a year more for some of the larger cats).

We get to enjoy our kittens as kittens even away from mom because we replace their normal wild diet with something easy to 'kill' :P.

  • Yes, kittens will lose their teeth. Just like human babies do!

Don't worry, they will grow back!
