  • Looking to team up with somebody to make some portfolio content. For i don't have nearly enough.

    You guys know me well enough, I'm good with Actionscript and server-side stuff. To be honest, i am useless at design, i don't know if it's a lack of creativity or bad taste, but i have great ideas and they are executed badly.

    I apply for freelance jobs on here and other places, but then i get the dreaded question "do you have a portfolio?". Well, no. I don't even have anything online, except for my own site, and it's not finished:D

    So, I am looking for somebody who is good with design that will allow me to showcase my techinical ability. This will work both ways, you can use this stuff for your own port. too.

    If anybody out there wants to help poor little Joshua, reply or PM me.

    Skills I am learning currently: PHP, MySQL and better design :D

  • I am not accepting anymore, i have found some people, but i do beleive after this that forming a small invite only firm wouldn't be a bad idea. There is however a cmmunication issue, and we would have to get to know each other a little better.

    I know that 100% of the time one of us doesn't apply for a posistion or freelance job, is that there is always that one thing you dont know how to do and if we had a firm which had a broader spectrum of skills, we could take on more work and work on the part we are skilled with.


  • I'd be interested given that the work doesn't interfere with school. I don't want to make any promises but I would appreciate being kept up to date with whatever information you're sending out - that is of course if that's okay with you. As I said earlier I blow at designing but I can implement pretty much anything you guys can come up with in Flash :)

  • Sounds like what I'm trying to do at the moment as well. I'm a Freelance designer orginally whose got into Flash/Web etc and sometimes, heck what am I saying, most of the times, my actionscript ideas outweigh my actual ability. So I'm available also!.
    LOL hehe yeah me and def were going to work on this cool project thiny- but it hasn't taken off yet- lol *damn timezones*

    Ive been recently trying to learn advanced flash, actionscripts, and Ive heard about this site from one of my professors since I wanted to make some kick-*** projects with my design.
    I am a graphic designer and been in art and design world for a while.
    I am still a student at a private art school in South Cali., but Ive always wanted to do some crazy stuff with cool effects and cool design that nobody has ever done.

    I know some actionscripts, but my overall actionscript skills are way poorer than yours.

    let me know if you are going to do something big in the future.

  • I actually would not mind joining....I am a graphic designer (90% print), that is why I have close to "ZERO" posts...no AS skills whatsoever.

    If he has found his partner, I think that a couple of us can mobilize to get a mix of people with different skills in order to get some projects done. I work with a friend (we have become friends, only met him once) and he does all the HTML while I work on Flash and Print.

    I am not sure how the this will all set up, but I think it is worth a try. I have been trying to get somehting like this tigether for quite a while but have only come accross people that were not reliable.

    Any thoughts?

    I would like to join if possible. I'm doing an internship right now so school doesnt get in the way.

    I'm good with AS and other languages( You know... all the web stuff [ PHP JS Ajax MySQL XML ..] and the others [JAVA C++ PERL ...etc...] ).

    I'm not a designer... at all. I speak French and English and I enjoy coding with other people. Please consider me :)

  • Berg I have no idea what you just posted.. lol. I hope Defective let's me in. This is a great idea. Passing around work to get it done faster, but at the same time I am sure there will be some communication problems. We would have to make a chat room or something... lol. Maybe using AIM or we can make our own ActionScript chat room... wow that would be pretty cool.
