• Sometimes it seems the anti-male sentiment is greater than the sexism towards females.

  • This might be an odd answer coming from a feminist, however....

When sexism occurs towards a woman, (cat calls, whistles, etc..)
It's frowned upon, most women would be offended, and those men guilty of such acts would be labeled "pigs"

When sexism occurs towards a man, (cat calls, whistles, etc..) it's percieved as more of a joke. The guys aren't as offended by it, or so it would seem, they actually seem to rather enjoy the attention.
And no one judges the woman for having done it.

    It's quite fascinating.

  • I get a lot of "jokes": on the internet that are just stupid put downs of men and I never forward them, just as I don't forward "dumb blond" jokes, There is a lot of sexism on the part of both genders..
    PS: I'm blonde

  • Sexism against men is so accepted that its not even recognised as a problem by most people. This is mainly due to the influence of feminism (see Section 2 here: http://www.freewebs.com/feminism-evaluat...

  • It never 'was' just a male thing.

It has always been a mutual thing.

Feminists, despite claiming to be for equality, only focus on one half of the full issue and thus misrepresent it entirely.

  • There is just as much sexism directed at men from women these days.

  • It's on both sides. I hated when those female teachers who had sex without their students got off so easy because society has made an assumption that it's somehow less offensive when women rape young men. If it was a male teacher and female student he would have be put UNDER the jail.

  • No sexism goes both ways now since there are still some males that still think they are dominant thank the parents for that. As for women there are some women that are sexuats of course they aren't as many as men. However, there are women who believe that some men are incompetent and they believe that women are the sole brain of the earth. Sounds crazy and ironic because men were mostly like this before but it is nothing but the truth.

  • From what I gave observed, a lot of male sexism is from other males if that makes sense?

  • No, there are sexist among both genders.
There are also sexist social standards.

I've found that most things that are sexist towards one gender. Is sexist towards the other.
    Examples....
Women are made to sit at home with the babies, they love to cook and clean. Women are natural mothers. Children "need" mothers more then fathers. Father loose rights to their children....are very unlikely to get custody of the kids even if they are the better parent.
Women are weak, nonaggression, nonviolent, they must be protected, ....Men fight the wars, they work the more dangerous jobs, are required to sign up for SS, and die at a much greater rate in wars......in a lot of cases women cant if they want to.

and many more...sexism affects both sex's. Just a matter of how you look at the issue.

  • No it works both ways. Sexism will end when Feminism ceases to exist.

I enjoy sexist jokes anyway - doesn't matter whether its on men or women.

  • Yes, Feminist HATE men.

  • no, it goes both ways. there are guys that think girls cant do anything, and there are girls that think boys are so much stupider or sumthing

  • Oh, learn to take a joke. Most "sexist" comments I hear are meant in good humour.

And if the person is serious, try listening to their point and then debating it if you disagree, rather than screaming "SEXIST" and attempting to devalue them without using your brain.

  • still? let me tell you something dude.It was never just a male thing, just in case you didn't notice there are alot of male bashing commercials and male bashing joke.
