• No other form of pasta seems to do this but macaroni always does, without fail - why?

  • Yeah, about a tablespoon of olive oil knocks out that problem. Don't forget to stir frequently. I also add a little bit of salt so it boils a little harder, which keeps the noodles moving. :)

  • i always put a little bit of oil in before the pasta when the water is boiling.make sure you stir it now and then as well.

  • cause its a gummy substance, therefore it needs to be mixed about every 5mins, to keep it from sticking 2gether use very lil salt.

  • You are not using enough water. Your macaroni should move all around freely during boiling.

  • Most likely all the starch lol. I always but a tad bit of oil in mine, so they don't stick as bad

  • Don't dump it in all at once. Add slowly to boiling water, stirring all the while and it won't stick.

  • Try adding a few drops of cooking oil to the pan before adding the pasta.

  • NEVER happens to my macaroni

  • i always add a tablespoon or two of butter to the boiling water

  • depends on the pan i have a pan i cooked macaroni in and it stuck so i used a differant kind of pan and it worked out good..try a differant pan and add butter to the noodles as well..hope this helps

  • Your water should be boiling, add salt also oil before putting in your macaroni that should stop it sticking to your pan, don't forget to give it a stir

  • you should add a small amount of olive oil.

  • Mine doesn't. Cooking noodles in plenty of water helps ensure perfect macaroni every time. Use an 8-quart pot to heat 4 to 6 quarts of water. There's no need to add oil; if plenty of water is used, macaroni won't stick to the pan. As soon as you have added the macaroni, stir the pasta, and stir frequently while boiling.

  • I always add a bit of oil to the pan when I cook any pasta, and it never happens to me. Try it :)

  • Mine doesn't! Why not stir it often?

  • Sounds like you aren't adding enough water. If there is enough water the motion of the boiling will keep the macaroni moving freely so there will be no time for it to settle and stick to the pan. Use 4-6 cups of water and it shouldn't stick.

P.S. Also, I have found, adding a teaspoon of salt helps and even makes it taste better.

  • Well, mine never does and I do NOT go in for this "add a few drops of oil" to it either so I can only think that you're not having the water boil at a fast enough rate.

  • if you dont keep stirring the pasta
it will stick to the pot.

    so keep stirring :)
